Meet Claire

Meet Claire
She is our other answered prayer.

She is a 8 month old little firecracker!
She has mastered crawling, sitting up and now trying to walk.
She is fast.
The picture above is her little personality.
She is always sticking her tongue out or has a smile on her face.
There are times wher she will give you a look and i can see the attitude.

I love to sit and watch her & Chloie play. She looks at her big sister with awe.
I think she already admires her.
I also love the look on her face when Cory walks in the door getting home from work.
She has the biggest smile on her face and her eyes are screaming daddy come here.
She is a momma's girl when she is hurt and sleepy but when she wants to play she wants her daddy or sissy.

I can't wait to see what  her personality is going to truly be.
I wonder what her voice will sound like and can't wait to see Chloie and her share special sister momnets.

So that my friends is Miss Claire!

Meet Cory

Meet Cory.
We have been married for 9 years.
He recently finished an Apprentice Lineman program and is now a Journeyman Lineman.
So if you are ever with out power he is one of the ones that gets is back on.

Where to start about Cory? Hmm...
I can honestly say that i believe God created this man for me. To be my husband, best friend, love of my life and father of my children.
He is a hard worker and i appreciate him so much. Probably more than he will ever know.

Cory is from a small West Texas town. So we did not grow up together.
But i am glad that he ventured down to SE Texas to go to school and that we met.

When he's not working he likes to hunt, fish and spend time with family and friends.

So there is a little bit about my honey!
Tomorrow is all about Miss Chloie!

All About Me

As stated in the previous post we recently took family pictures. The individual shots inspired me to do a post a day this week to introduce my family and I.
So here i go!

Who am I? Well i'm Crystal born and raised in a small SE Texas town.
I'm married to Cory (9yrs).
Mother to Chloie & Claire.
I'm a SAHM that enjoys doing crafts, baking, crocheting, scrapbooking & reading.
Those are just a few things about me.
My daily schedule is usually waking up
getting Chloie up, breakfast dressed for school then drop her off at school
back home Miss Claire and i eat breakfast, get dressed
clean house, do laundry, grocery shopping
pick Chloie up, get homework done, fix dinner, baths & bed time

Sounds kinda boring???

I wouldn't have it any other way.
Who am I used to be such a easy question answer,
but now the first 2 things that pop in my mind are wife and mother.

Before i would have talked about going out with friends, hair and nails done,
beach trips w/girlfriends in our itty bitty bikinis.

Now it's family dinners, snuggle time & date nights with Cory that are precious and mean the world to me.
As for those itty bitty bikinis those are long gone. The stretch marks and post baby body is worth it though to have my sweet girls.

Now i guess i could list some of my favorite things.
Music: i listen to just about everything
Food: Mexican & Italian
Books: Anything by Jodi Picoult & the Twilight Series

So that is a little about me. Have any questions feel free to ask away!
Tomorrow is Cory's day!

I am very grateful to Viv for capturing these precious moments in our life. We will treasure them forever.
The next few days i will be posting a pic of a family member and introducing them. I realized in my few years of blogging that i have not introduced us! Stay tuned.

Oh Fabric Tree, Oh Fabric Tree

So while visiting over at http://www.allthingsheartandhome.com/ i ran across this cute little Fabric Tree she made and had to make one to. She has a tutorial there to show you how to make one. I didn't go purchase a wooden base i just cut a 2x4 to size and used a dowel rod i already had.
Here is my version:

Then i couldn't leave out a pic of this little guy i found at the thrift store. Chloie says i need to touch him up he's a little "scratched up" but i think he has charm!

Never Forget

The finest tribute we can pay
Unto our hero dead to-day,
Is not a rose wreath, white and red,
In memory of the blood they shed;
It is to stand beside each mound,
Each couch of consecrated ground,
And pledge ourselves as warriors true
Unto the work they died to do.

Into God's valleys where they lie
At rest, beneath the open sky,
Triumphant now o'er every foe,
As living tributes let us go.
No wreath of rose or immortelles
Or spoken word or tolling bells
Will do to-day, unless we give
Our pledge that liberty shall live.

Our hearts must be the roses red
We place above our hero dead;
To-day beside their graves we must
Renew allegiance to their trust;
Must bare our heads and humbly say
We hold the flag as dear as they,
And stand, as once they stood, to die
To keep the Stars and Stripes on high.

The finest tribute we can pay
Unto our hero dead to-day
Is not of speech or roses red,
But living, throbbing hearts instead,
That shall renew the pledge they sealed
With death upon the battlefield;
That freedom's flag shall bear no stain
And free men wear no tyrant's chain.

Today is the day!!!

Thursday nights are normally reserved for Grey's. I have friends that will confirm i stay home on thursday nights to watch Grey's. Hadn't missed an episode till 4/30. The day Miss Claire was born i missed my Grey's.
So what  could be so important to drag me away from Grey's tonight?
New Moon!
I can't believe Nov, 19th is finally here. At 12:01am i will be at the movies along with my fellow Twilight friends watching   New Moon!

Cory can not believe i'm joining the craziness and going to the midnight show. I told him if you are a true Twilight fan this is what we do! LOL!
So now i'm off to get my New Moon shirt, jeans & other attire laid out & to pack a waiting inline bag!

I leave you with some of my favorite New Moon clips and pics!

Project update

Let me start by saying painting is fun and exhausting! We have some touch ups to do but we are almost finished.

Here is the 1/2 bath i was talking about. I picked that paint color to go by the red on the other walls in my house but i didn't think it was going to turn out so dark. So now we are looking for a much lighter color to go on the other walls.
Any color suggestions??

Now i need some decor suggestions please.

This week is dedicated to Twilight . I have to update you w/my projects but also include Twilight because 2 more days and along w/some other Twihard friends i'm going to see New Moon!
So I leave you with:

Ideas & Opinions Needed!!!

Ok we have lived in our house a little over a year and i have done a little decorating but not a lot. Well it is time for this house to get decorated! I’m going to post some pics and please, please, please give me some opinions and ideas.
1st room up is the girls bathroom:
Here is the girls bathroom. The framed picture below inspired the beach theme. Chloie has always loved the beach. (Excuse the wrinkly shower curtain) Shower curtain we got at Target i liked how it had lots of fun cheery colors in it. I want to add some color.
What color or colors do you think i should paint on the walls?

Moving on to the stair case:
We are having family pics done in a few weeks and i’m hoping to get some individual shots. I was thinking of putting individual shots going up the wall that is behind the staircase does that make sense? So as you are walking up the staircase there will be our pics. (see second pic)
Now the first pic below i took to see if you think anything needs to go by those windows?

Next stop is the Entry Way
1st pic is of the back of my front door
2nd pic is what you see when you look up when you enter the front door
I have one of those vinyl lettering that says “May all enter as guests leave as friends” . Would you put that above the door & see it as you leave or put it in the space in the 2nd pic and see it as you enter?
3rd pic is of wall by staircase that door is to the 1/2 bath. not sure what to do there. the blank space by the stairs are where our stockings hung last year. I can hang them some where else i guess. Should that be decorated in any certain way?

This archway is what you see when are going up the stairs.  I feel like something else needs to go there. I have a cute Santa that lays down that will go there next month between the 2 plants. But i’m thinking about after Christmas is over.

Now on to the Game Room:
This room is what you first come up to when going up the stairs right now there is that chair and tv in there. In the next few weeks there will be a couch. I want this room all about the girls. It is their area to watch tv and lounge around. I’m thinking of taking that sign in the 3rd pic and redoing it. It doesn’t really go w/anything anymore. So i’m thinking of covering up the middle part w/burlap and then stenciling Sisters on it. Hanging it on that long wall and putting pics of the girls all around it. What do you think? Do it or have another idea?

Now you want to see some of my inspiration ideas? When we picked out this floor plan to build the model house was the same floor plan so i took pics of how they painted and decorated it.
Girls Bath in Model Home

See how those pics are along the staircase that is what i was talking about doing w/individual pics of us. The second pic is the only one i could find that has those 2 windows in it i talked about earlier.

this pic i also posted to show where the arch way is (to the left in the pic)

This is the wall by the stairs i was talking about before if i should put anything in that blank space.

The Archway

where the desk is where the tv is in our game room

One more thing to add I LOVE the red walls. I want to paint the archway & wall by staircase like it is in the model home pics hopefully in the next few weeks. Then i need to find a sand/khaki color that would go good w/it to paint the other walls.
Wow i think this is the longest post i have written. Sorry to write a book but as you can see i need some design help!!!
